JUST IN: @markwarner who has an A rating from the NRA is ready to “talk” about an assault weapons ban. He calls #Newtown a “game changer.”

Whenever there’s a mass killing involving a gun, the National Rifle Association hides out in its panic room until the outrage dies down. But that doesn’t mean gun owners don’t care about gun violence. It’s just that the NRA doesn’t really represent gun owners -- it represents gun manufacturers, who only care about selling as many guns as possible. (What, you thought NRA boss Wayne LaPierre gets paid a million bucks a year to speak up for deer hunters?)

Since the NRA leadership and its lackeys in Congress don’t dare show their faces, here’s a look at what some real-life gun owners think about gun violence.
